(1) Pure cotton fine embroidery thread
Pure cotton fine embroidery thread is twisted from a single yarn, with about 40 color schemes, and each color scheme has about 6-9 color levels from light to deep. It can be stitched together, and when using pure cotton thread for embroidery on rough substrates, attention should be paid to using stitched together, otherwise the embroidered pattern will easily foam and expose the substrate, resulting in unevenness.
(2) Pure cotton coarse embroidery thread
Pure cotton coarse embroidery thread is twisted from three strands of yarn, with fewer color schemes and only 3-5 color levels per color scheme. Generally, it is not used as a single strand, with a maximum of two strands. Suitable for embroidery on linen and velvet substrates.
(3) Composite line
The composite thread is mostly imported embroidery thread from abroad, composed of 6 strands. The thread itself has a luster, and the color is also very elegant. Each color system contains a gray component, such as gray green, gray pink, gray blue, and so on. The joint stock imported thread is most suitable for making silk paintings, velvet embroidery paintings, etc.
(4) Machine embroidery thread
Machine embroidery thread, as the name suggests, is a thread used on a sewing machine. It has a very tough texture, is very sturdy, and is not easy to break strands. It works well on sewing machines. This type of thread is not suitable for manual embroidery because it contains ingredients such as talcum powder and paste. Manual embroidery is prone to knot formation, and the affinity between the embroidery thread and the fabric is poor, making it difficult to flatten the embroidery thread during embroidery.
(5) Silk thread
True silk thread is a unique type of embroidery thread in southern China, just like our ink paintings, only found in China. Silk thread is suitable for embroidery on soft satin, silk, and other soft substrates, as well as double-sided embroidery on glass yarn. Embroidering animals with real silk thread, its unique luster expresses the excellent effect of animal fur.
(6) Woolen yarn
Woolen thread is generally suitable for making silk embroidery, and can be divided into fine wool thread, medium thick thread, thick twisted thread, and ply thread. Attention should be paid to using thick twisted or stranded thread for embroidery on thick fabric.
(7) Gold and silver thread
Gold and silver threads are generally suitable for making pan gold embroidery and diamond embroidery. Due to the brittle texture of the gold and silver thread, it is not suitable for embroidery with more complex needle techniques.
(8) Ribbons
Ribbon is a type of finely woven colored ribbon. Suitable for use on thick and thick base fabric, or mixed with thick embroidery thread, with excellent results. If combined with bead embroidery and sequin embroidery, the visual effect will be more colorful.
(9) Polyester embroidery thread
The characteristic of polyester embroidery thread is that it can withstand chemicals and frequently wash clothes, reducing the phenomenon of color fading and discoloration. Therefore, many hotel uniforms, as well as some stone blue jeans, sportswear, or some children's clothing, are made of polyester silk. Overall, polyester thread is more durable and has higher strength than artificial silk embroidery thread. When performing machine embroidery, the polyester thread can withstand higher tension from the embroidery machine, which can make the machine run faster; And its fire resistance is very high, even if the polyester is close to the flame, it is not easy to catch fire.
The thread of polyester fiber is not as stable as that of rayon, as it is composed of polyester fiber, making it more elastic. We can cut a piece of artificial silk thread for experimentation, apply a little force to pull the thread, and then release it. We will find that the embroidery thread does not shrink much; On the contrary, by pulling the polyester yarn in the same way, once it is released, the polyester yarn will return to its original length, which has the opportunity to cause flower wrinkles. Therefore, in terms of adjusting the tension of the embroidery thread, it is necessary to be more precise.
